Scope

Greyline successfully completed a 12-week programme of refurbishment to modernise facilities at the Ruislip Manor Library. The scope required our directly employed team and specialist subcontractors to complete a strip-out internally and subsequent refit and reorganisation of internal spaces to provide a revamped library suited to the needs of local Hillingdon residents. The completed project includes newly formed office space, a reception area, renewed data and electrical services, and washrooms.
Working with the Council and their design team we reorganised the internal spaces and used colour schemes, materials, and newly fitted carpets to denote separate library areas within the open plan scheme, creating a café area, book storage/display, work areas and a children’s library. Within the children’s area newly installed sound absorbent ceiling panels and coloured circular feature panels provide a clearly defined area. A dedicated IT room with bespoke furniture and enhanced electrical installations to support the power demands of multiple computers was also created.
Our project management team promoted communication with the library management from mobilisation, maintaining regular daily contact throughout delivery to ensure that the completed project met their requirements as the end-users.
Ruislip Manor Library was officially reopened by the Leader of Hillingdon Council.
