Carbon Reduction Plan
Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Greyline Group Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, exceeding the UK Government’s minimum target of 2050.
Environmental sustainability is embedded within our business strategy and operational decision-making. We recognise our responsibility to minimise carbon emissions across our offices, fleet, supply chain and project delivery activities.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared in accordance with Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. The Plan establishes Greyline’s baseline emissions, sets measurable reduction targets and identifies the initiatives that will enable continuous improvement.
Annual reporting will be undertaken using the latest UK Government (DEFRA) greenhouse gas conversion factors and the methodology will be refined as increasingly accurate operational data becomes available.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of greenhouse gases produced before implementing carbon reduction initiatives. They provide the benchmark against which future reductions are measured.
Baseline Year
2025
Organisational Boundary
This Carbon Reduction Plan covers all UK operations directly controlled by Greyline Group Ltd including:
- Head Office
- Company vehicle fleet
- Office utilities
- Business travel
- Operational waste
Additional Details
Greyline has completed its first organisational carbon assessment using operational expenditure, available utility information and business activity records.
Where detailed consumption data (litres, kWh or tonnes) was unavailable during the reporting period, emissions have been estimated using recognised UK Government DEFRA conversion factors together with average industry consumption values.
Future reporting periods will transition to measured operational data from fuel cards, utility suppliers and waste contractors to further improve reporting accuracy.
Baseline Year Emissions (Estimated)
Reporting Methodology
The organisational carbon footprint has been prepared using:
- Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard
- UK Government Environmental Reporting Guidelines
- DEFRA Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factors
- PPN 06/21 Technical Standard
The following emission sources have been included.
Scope 1
- Company owned vehicles
- Natural gas
- Not applicable: Refrigerant losses; Process emissions
Scope 2
- Purchased electricity
Scope 3 (Included)
Business travel; Waste generated in operations
Future reporting will progressively include:
- Employee commuting
- Purchased goods and services
- Upstream transportation
- Capital goods
- Supply chain emissions
Scope 3 (Included)
As 2025 represents Greyline’s first reporting year, the current emissions remain aligned with the baseline assessment.
Emissions Estimated tCO₂e
- Scope 1 – 128.6
- Scope 2 – 5.4
- Scope 3 – 25.5
- Total – 159.5
Future annual reporting will compare emissions against this baseline.
